API development

Do more with your data

Do more with your data. It’s not the data you collect, it’s what you do with it that counts. Our API will help you pull metrics from Savanta dashboards into your own reporting systems.

Our approach

The AllVue API is a data feed that is always on and accessible. You can access data in CSV format to be used in broader applications or fed into a data warehouse.

Our API has been developed in two forms:

  1. Our Survey Response API gives you daily respondent level data – perfect for adding into a data warehouse, pairing with other data sets, and running your own analysis on the imported data set. While all the time you can view calculated metrics in your Savanta dashboards.
  2. Our Calculated Metric API gives you pre-calculated and weighted results  - as per your reports or dashboards. This API is used to accurately report the calculated, weighted data from our AllVue platform with other KPIs in your internal systems.

Our APIs have different benefits; pick the one that best fits your needs. Our APIs are designed to be accessed from a programme or service, so rather than user login details, all requests are sent with an API Key.

Our Savanta Data Open API 3 specification may be useful in generating code to call these APIs or integrating with other tools. Find out more about our API development.

01

Access the API

Once you have an account with us, we will issue you a key that you can use as a bearer token in your requests.

02

Receive daily updates

The data in the API is updated each day. Depending on the average type you are looking at in the Calculated Metric API, you may not see the most recent week, month, quarter, or year until the period is complete.

03

Apply your own filters

Currently the data cannot be filtered, which means you can apply your own filters to metrics, by using the Survey Response API and recreating the metrics that would be in your reports.

04

Fair use

We have no strict rate limit on the API, but we do have a fair use policy – our servers are robust, but if you are looking to use large data sets, we recommend you store data in you own database to avoid repeat pulling of data sets.

Research benefits

Each of our APIs provide a range of benefits depending on your needs:

Accurately report data

Our Calculated Metric API will accurately report the calculated, weighted data you see in our AllVue platform with other KPIs you have from suppliers in your internal systems.

Pull metrics from dashboards

Our Calculated Metric API allows you to pull metrics into your own reporting system. For example, you can measure the effectiveness of offline marketing efforts with metrics that measure if campaigns have had the impact you expected.

Provide data at an individual level

Our Survey Response API provides all the data, by individual respondents, from a survey and metadata to interpret the responses. It does not return results for calculated metrics seen in Savanta dashboards.

Create custom aggregations

Our Survey Response API is invaluable for custom results aggregation; combining raw data from our surveys with your own data sources to produce enriched analytics. It can also be used to present survey data in business information solutions or to interrogate survey responses.
