Premier Christian Media – Prayer Survey

Survey on GB public’s habits around attending religious services and praying, especially about specific events like attacks or natural disasters.

Those living in London are far more likely to pray (38 per cent) than British adults generally (23 per cent), while those in Scotland are least likely (14 per cent).
Almost three in five (57 per cent) Brits say they never pray.
Of a list of major events from the past 12 months, the most prayed for was the Australian wildfires (18 per cent), followed by the London Bridge Attack (18 per cent) and US/Iran conflict (11 per cent). Just one in ten Brits prayed about Brexit.
Christians are less likely to pray (38 per cent) than those from other faith groups (52 per cent).
Despite the popularity of #prayfor… social media campaigns, only one in seven say they’ve ever prayed as a result of one.
