The Times: The ‘secret sauce’ that helped Octopus take on British Gas

As featured in The Times on 27th July, Jon Yeomans interviews Greg Jackson, Founder and CEO of Octopus Energy, looking at the rise of Octopus energy and its focus on customer service.

The ‘secret sauce’ to the company’s success is software, called Kraken, that has helped Octopus accelerate from nowhere to become the UK’s largest supplier of electricity.

John Laughton, Director of BrandVue at Savanta, highlights in the feature that BrandVue survey data shows Octopus rates highly as an “innovative” and “ethical” company against its peers. Crucially, it is seen as offering value for money, that Octopus is attractively priced.”
