Will Blackett EVP, Consumer 14/03/2023

Amazon, Apple, and Aldi have topped the charts as the most loved retailers in the UK, according to a new study of 96,000 consumers from BrandVue Retail.

Each year Savanta’s Most Loved Retail Brands report shines a light on retailers that are capturing the hearts of UK shoppers.

Within the report we reveal the UK’s most loved retail brands–with performance rankings from across all major categories – grocery, home, DIY, tech, health & beauty, books & cards, and children & recreation.

The research uses BrandVue Retail, Savanta’s daily brand tracking tool, to draw insight from over 96,000 consumers across 200+ retail brands and then rates the Top 100 according to how loved they are by the public.

What do the top brands have in common?

Amazon, Apple and Aldi are unified by customer connection.

They’ve all nailed one or more of the key factors in retail: convenience, innovation, and value. While Amazon leads with convenience, Apple offers pioneering products and services. Aldi, on the other hand, is recognised for providing quality products at affordable prices – something that’s particularly important to consumers in the current environment.

In a climate of fierce competition and abundant choice, all three brands have found a way to build a relationship with customers that goes beyond the functional. The data highlights the commercial importance of making a deeper and more personal emotional connection with customers.

Beyond the top three, brands Britons have taken to their hearts include M&S, Boots and IKEA.
