Public poll on renewable energy and pension investments for The Whitehouse Consultancy.
Oil & gas and solar industries are the two most commonly thought to provide the greatest long-term return on investment for pension funds, both chosen by 18% of British adults. However, around a third (36%) of British adults say they don’t know which of the industries would give them the great return on investment.
Among the more affluent AB social grade, one in five (20%) believe it is oil & gas that would give the best return for pension funds, with 17% choosing each of solar and nuclear.
Young Britons (aged 18-24) are most likely to think solar gives the greatest return (22%), while those aged 65+ are split between oil & gas (22%) and nuclear (22%).
