LCCI Quarterly Economic Survey Q1, addressing London’s housing needs

Survey of London businesses on behalf of the LCCI on which measures they think would be most effective in addressing London’s housing needs.

  • The measure most likely to be seen as effective in helping to address London’s housing needs is increasing the amount of social housing available (71%), followed by allowing the building of new housing on poor quality, disused or derelict green belt land (67%).
  • Of the options tested, relaxing planning laws on new developments (52%) and the Government’s ‘Build to Rent’ scheme (51%) are least likely to be considered effective.

Methodology

ComRes interviewed 561 London business decision makers online between the 15th February and 15th March 2018. Data were weighted to be representative of all London businesses by company size and broad industry sector. ComRes is a member of the British Polling Council and abides by its rules.
