Survey of London businesses on behalf of the LCCI on which measures they think would be most effective in addressing London’s housing needs.
- The measure most likely to be seen as effective in helping to address London’s housing needs is increasing the amount of social housing available (71%), followed by allowing the building of new housing on poor quality, disused or derelict green belt land (67%).
- Of the options tested, relaxing planning laws on new developments (52%) and the Government’s ‘Build to Rent’ scheme (51%) are least likely to be considered effective.
