Survey of 800 primary and secondary teachers.
- 91% of teachers surveyed say that quality of leadership is very important to a school’s success, while 9% say it is fairly important.
- Teachers are more likely to say that the quality of leadership at their school is good (63%) than poor (11%) with a quarter (23%) rating it as ‘fair’.
- Two in five (40%) of teachers spend no time away from their usual work developing their leadership skills, while a further 26% say that they have spent less than a day over the last year doing this.
