Centre for London – Coronavirus Transport Survey

A survey of Londoners exploring how the Coronavirus pandemic has impacted user behaviour and transport preference and support for policies being introduced across the city.

73% of Londoners support the compulsory use of facemasks on public transport. 21% oppose the measure and a further 6% did not know.
Half of those who have travelled by tube or rail (52%) and bus (51%) during lockdown are finding it difficult to keep socially distant from other people.
69% of Londoners support the temporary widening of pavements to aid social distancing.
64% of Londoners support the temporary provision of new cycle lanes, or wider existing cycle lanes, to aid social distancing.
59% of Londoners support the temporary closure of roads and parking to accommodate walking, cycling and space for queues.
