Josephine has been elected one of the four available places on the main board alongside: Shazia Ali (director and founder at Mint Research), LaShanda Seaman (qualitative research manager at Opinium), who were elected for their first terms, and Rebecca Cole (managing director at Cobalt Sky), who was re-elected this year.
The Market Research Society (MRS) also elected James Endersby (chief executive at Opinium) as chair designate, and Georgina White (director of customer experience and insight at Holland and Barrett), as chair of the senior client council.
Josephine Hansom commented: “Firstly I’d like to say thank you to the MRS members that voted in the main board election. There were so many brilliant candidates – I can’t quite believe I now have a seat on the board.
“I’m excited to champion the future needs of our industry. Attracting future talent, identifying the future skills we will need as well as continue to work with the market research purpose groups (MRSpride, MRS Unlimited, CORe) to make market research welcoming and equitable.”
Jane Frost, chief executive at MRS, commented in Research Live: “This was an incredibly tough competition with an incredibly experienced and diverse list of candidates, all of whom would have been an asset to the board.
“I am excited to be working with an incredibly diverse board and want to extend my heartfelt thanks to those who did not make it through this time.”
Huge, HUGE congratulations to all the candidates. We cannot wait to see what new ideas and innovations the board can bring to our industry this term.
Last year, Josephine became an MRS Fellow, and has been an MRS Pride steering committee member for many years, making great strides to ensure our industry is a more inclusive place to work. We’re extremely excited to see what she does next in her new position!
