Northern Ireland's Business Confidence continues to climb and is now almost identical to GB’s

Sue Lewis Senior Director, Financial Services 07/06/2023

According to Savanta’s MarketVue Business Confidence Index for Northern Ireland, business confidence improved significantly, from 33 in Q4 2022 to 37 in Q1 2023. Great Britain has also seen an increase this quarter, rising to 38.

Both scores still indicate that more businesses gave negative ratings than positive, but after so much uncertainty over the past few years, let’s hope the improvements we’ve seen are a sign that this trend can be reversed.

The survey was conducted between January and March 2023 and included 375 NI businesses of various sizes. A downloadable infographic is available for a snapshot of the results, dating back to the beginning of 2021.
