Methodology

ComRes interviewed 202 business IT and information security decision-makers in Great Britain online between 23rd October and 1st November 2017.

Respondents were either involved in decision-making of their company’s information security and data breach management process or at least aware of the information security and data breach management process if they were not involved directly. All businesses surveyed were broadly representative of businesses overall by sector and hold personally identifiable information (PII) for at least 100 customers or employees. Responses were broken down into; 51 Medium-Small business (50-99), 51 Medium-Large businesses (100-249) and 100 Large businesses (250+).

ComRes interviewed 2,033 British adults aged 18+ online between 8th and 9th November 2017. Data were weighted by age, gender, region and social grade to be representative of all British adults aged 18+.
