MRSpride x CORe: In+ersectional Platform

VP of audiences (Tatenda Musesengwa) and VP of youth (Josephine Hansom) guest speak to reveal new research around LGBTQ+ and ethnic minority communities.

Two initiatives we support, MRSpride and Colour of Research (CORe), have come together to launch a new event that explores the experiences of those at the intersection of the LGBTQ+ and ethnic minority communities.

The virtual event: ‘In+ersectional Platform: LGBTQ+ and Ethnic Minority Experience’ will showcase fresh research that explores the experiences of those at the intersection of these under-represented communities. Intersectionality is not very well understood and this research goes some way to recognise the layering of identity.

The event will feature contributions from our two VPs – Josephine Hansom (who is a steering committee member of MRSpride) and Tatenda Musesengwa (who is a co-founder of CORe).

Tatenda will be be leading the discussion at 11:20am to share the research highlights conducted for the event.

As well as sharing highlights from this qual project, there’ll also be a keynote from UK Black Pride’s legendary co-founder Lady Phyll, who’ll be discussing the We Will Be Heard report, and Clifford Lewis will share his own work focusing on the notions of respect and beneficence underlining ethical research with minority groups.

After this, there’ll be an opportunity for a Q&A session led by new member of CORe, Asad Dhunna.
