A drop in the ocean – Are consumers prepared to change water usage?

Olly Worsfold Director 24/11/2021

Eco Index 2021

As the climate changes and society works towards Net Zero, the UK's usage of water and relationship with water providers will change.

Although younger generations are usually seen as the most environmentally-conscious and open to new technologies, older generations are more likely to consider and adopt water meters

Now that the UK is increasingly prone to more extreme weather, from flooding to droughts, combined with ever greater demand on our water supplies, our latest Eco Index 2021 report, analyses the views on climate change and sustainability of 6,000 respondents – exploring the opinions on environmental issues across the UK, US and Canada.

Here, we explore how UK behaviours are already changing across the generations, and the changing role that the environment plays in their decision making around water provision.
