R3 Value of the Insolvency Industry Survey

Survey of R3 members about their work on behalf of R3.

Where an insolvency professional was appointed, the UK’s insolvency profession helped rescue approximately two-in-five insolvent businesses in 2013-14.

The research found that R3 members helped around 6,700 businesses continue trading in some way after entering insolvency, helping to save around 230,000 jobs.

Methodology

ComRes surveyed 448 insolvency practitioners across the UK, all of whom are members of R3. The interviews were conducted online between 9^th October and 14^th November 2014 as part of the regular R3 membership survey. The results have been used to extrapolate and model all IPs in the UK, as R3’s membership encompasses the majority of all IPs in the UK. Throughout this report, we have assumed that R3’s membership is representative of all IPs in the UK.
