A survey of the self-employed exploring the issues that matter most to them.

• Survey of the self-employed, despite difficulties posed by greater economic insecurity, self-employment is extremely popular, with 80% stating they are happy with this form of employment.

• 70% of self-employed workers intend to stay in self-employment for the foreseeable future, with only 2% of workers stating they would consider switching to employee status as soon as possible. (taken from Demos report)

Methodology

ComRes interviewed 1,003 self-employed UK adults online aged 18+ between 27th October and 13th November 2017. Data were weighted to be representative of all self-employed UK adults aged 18+ by age, gender, region and SOC code. ComRes is a member of the British Polling Council and abides by its rules.
