  • 80% say their level of trust would decrease if a company lost their personal data.

 

  • 84% of medium and large UK businesses surveyed are concerned that customers will trust the organisation less.
  • 81% are concerned about the financial impact of recovering from a breach.

Methodology

ComRes surveyed 400 medium and large UK businesses online between 22nd December 2014 and 3rd January 2015. All respondents were screened and had involvement or knowledge of their company’s data breach policy.

ComRes also surveyed 2,056 GB adults online between 9th and 11th January 2015. Data were weighted to be representative of all adults in Great Britain aged 18+.
