ComRes interviewed 1,000 GB adults aged 18+ by telephone between 11th and 13th April 2014. Data were weighted to be representative of all GB adults aged 18+.

Description

·         More than two in five British adults (44%) say that they do not understand how their home energy supplier calculates their bill.

·         Half of Britons (51%) have not switched energy supplier in the past five years.

·         One in eight Britons who have changed energy supplier in the past five years (13%) say that when they went to change and closed their account with the company they were leaving, the amount was more than they expected. 68% say it was about how much they expected.

·         Three quarters of Britons (76%) say that energy companies often seem to make tariffs unnecessarily complicated.
