Introducing The Top 100 Most Loved Financial Services Brands

Our latest BrandVue report reveals the UK's most loved financial services brands, including neo-banks, highlighting the risers and fallers compared to 2020, whilst also shining light on the notable success stories.

Starling continues to be loved amongst the younger generations, scoring particularly highly across attributes such as ‘Trustworthy’, ‘Straight-forward’ and ‘Innovative’.

Monzo takes first place in the neo-banking category, closely followed by Starling Bank and Revolut. It has been a difficult year for Monzo, Revolut and Atom Bank in terms of Brand Love. All three brands have seen a slight decrease in their score and overall ranking since last year.

Traditional banks, such as Barclays and Nationwide, have closed the gap in innovative product offerings and user experiences, causing the USP of neo-banks to no longer be as unique as it once was. This has been reflected in slight drops in Brand Love across the category, leading to bigger drops down the overall rankings, with Atom Bank moving from 29th to 58th place overall.

In spite of other neo-banks across the category also having a tough year, Starling has seen a healthy rise in Brand Love in 2021, helping the brand cement 2nd place and further close the gap between itself and Monzo. Starling continues to be loved amongst the younger generations, scoring particularly highly across attributes such as ‘Trustworthy’, ‘Straight-forward’ and ‘Innovative’.

The neo-bank has been able to position itself as a worthy alternative to traditional high-street banking, with constant developments in useful app features over the past year such as bill management, and by continuing to build trust through strong customer support and easy-to-use services.
