Savanta’s specialist youth consultant, Anna Parker, will be joining Tom Madders, Director of Communication and Campaigns at YoungMinds to talk through the findings from our project: a radical voice for mental health – creating a blueprint for change alongside young people.
This research was developed in partnership with YoungMinds (a UK leading mental health charity) and Wagamama. We uncovered the systemic pressures impacting young people today, and discovered new solutions to the mental health crisis amongst marginalised young people.
What made this research remarkable was the involvement of young people as peer researchers. A number of teens were trained to moderate the online community, get involved in the research design process and contributed to the brainstorm and insight sessions.
The research is being used by YoungMinds to lobby government and develop a clear blueprint for change. And for us, we were able to reflect on new ways of working that provide greater protection for the welfare of participants and our researchers working on similar projects in the future.
