Survey of British adults regarding their concerns about the food industry
- British adults tend to be more concerned following the horsemeat scandal, than less concerned that the food they buy might differ from its labelling information; seven in ten (69%) say they are more concerned, compared to three in ten (31%) who say they are less concerned
- Over half (53%) of British adults are concerned that the food products they buy are falsely labelled, but under one in ten (8%) say that they are very concerned
- The availability of British-produced options is seen as the food standard least at risk as a result of Brexit (41% ranking this as least at risk). Food hygiene standards (62% top three) and quality of food (61%) are seen as the most at risk
