A poll of adults in Britain on behalf of CARE, looking at gambling.
- The majority of adults in Britain (63%) say that problem gambling is a significant issue in Britain.
- The same proportion (61%) also say that the UK Government should make it compulsory for all gambling companies to pay a larger and equitable proportion of their profit or turnover towards funding help for problem gamblers.
- There is an age difference in views on gambling; younger adults are more likely than their older peers to say that problem gambling isn’t an issue (20% of 18-34 year olds say this, significantly more than the 13% of those aged 55+).
- Younger adults are more likely than older adults to say that they know someone personally who has had a problem with gambling (35% of 18-35 year olds versus 21% of those aged 55 and over).
