Savanta found that the majority (60%) of moms do not expect a gift this year on Mother’s Day. However, among those anticipating a gift, most expect a hand-made gift from their children or partner (46%). The following most expected gift by mothers would be from a local store (43%).
When asked how they most want to spend Mother’s Day in an ideal world, two out of three moms say they want to spend the day with just their nuclear family, meaning their partner and children solely.
For non-moms looking to purchase something this Mother’s Day, most people (46%) plan to buy a gift from a local store, with a gift on Amazon or online (40%) following. One in three non-moms also plan to purchase flowers for a mother in their lives, a gift that was consistently mentioned across the participants.
