Wesminster Voting Intention and Starmer vs Corbyn – 20th April 2021

Westminster Voting Intention and polling on the Labour Party under Starmer compared to under Corbyn.

A quarter of those aged 18-34 say that the Labour Party has less public appeal under Starmer than under Corbyn (25%).
Two in five of those who would currently vote for Labour say the party is more unified under Starmer than Corbyn (42%), with a third saying it’s the same (33%)
Three in ten UK adults say the Labour Party is more likely to win an election under Starmer (31%), while one in five say it is less likely (20%)
Over a third of those who would vote Labour now say the policies are better under Starmer (36%) than under Corbyn, with two in five saying they are the same (39%)
Westminster Voting Intention shows Savanta ComRes’ biggest Conservative lead since May 2020: Con 43% (+1), Lab 34% (-1), Lib Dem 7% (=), SNP 5% (=), Green 4% (=), Other 7% (=)

Methodology

Savanta ComRes interviewed 2,094 UK adults aged 18+ online between 16th-18th April 2021. Data were weighted by age, sex, region and social grade. Voting intention was also weighted by 2019 and 2016 past vote, and likelihood to vote. Savanta ComRes is a member of the British Polling Council and abides by its rules.
