ComRes interviewed 2,056 GB adults online between 9th and 11th May 2014. Data were weighted to be representative of all GB adults aged 18+. ComRes is a member of the British Polling Council and abides by its rules.

Description

  ·         A third of the British public (34%) would assume that they are connected to the correct WiFi if they can access the internet.  However, two fifths (39%) of British adults do not know whether the WiFi in a public location is safe to use.

·         Few than half of British adults (43%) say that they would look for a sign that indicates ‘WiFi is available’ whilst out on the high street and in need of public WiFi.

·         Over three quarters of the British public (77%) rank a ‘Friendly WiFi’ logo clearly displayed as one of their top three choices regarding things that would make public WiFi more helpful.
