Background
Sodexo provides food and facilities management services to universities across the globe.
Its aim is to establish the brand as global thought leaders in this space.
This research was originally conducted by YouthSight, now part of Savanta.
The Challenge
We had previously worked with Sodexo on similar thought-leadership studies focusing on the UK. This research was a success, and generated significant press coverage.
Sodexo asked us to repeat these studies across six countries: the UK, US, Spain, Italy, India and China.
Our approach
We managed the full global survey project in all six countries, from recruitment and sampling, to fieldwork, analysis and reporting.
Sodexo benefited from a single point of contact throughout the project, making it as easy as possible to manage.
Our team ensured findings were presented in a digestible way for our client’s stakeholders in all six countries to understand and apply to future decision making.
The outcome
This project resulted in a unique piece of global research, revealing fresh, valuable insights into university life globally, and enabling unique international comparisons.
For example, it revealed students’ expectations of food services:
60% of UK students expect meat-free options to be available at their university’s catering or retail outlets.
The study generated significant press coverage for Sodexo, including several key trade titles.
