A European wide survey among the public to gauge perceptions of animal testing in the EU
- Three quarters (76%) of adults in EU member states think animal testing for household cleaning products should be banned in the EU.
- Three quarters (75%) of adults in EU member states think the EU should invest more in the development of alternative methods to animal testing.
- Three quarters (74%) of adults in EU member states agree that animal testing for cosmetic products and their ingredients is unacceptable in all circumstances.
- Nearly three quarters (72%) of adults in EU member states agree that the EU should set binding targets and deadlines to phase out testing on animals.
- Seven in ten (70%) adults in EU member states agree that enabling the full replacement of all forms of animal testing with non-animal testing methods should be a priority for the EU.
- Two thirds (66%) of adults in EU member states agree that the EU should immediately end all animal testing.

Methodology
Savanta ComRes interviewed 5653 adults online from 9th to 19th June across twelve EU member states (1223 in Germany, 1071 in France, 891 in Italy, 680 in Spain, 560 in Poland, 279 in Romania, 250 in the Netherlands, 174 in Belgium, 155 in the Czech Republic, 155 in Portugal, 108 in Denmark and 107 in Croatia). At a country level, the data was weighted to be demographically representative by age, gender and region in each country. At a European level, the data was also weighted to be representative of the population size of the twelve countries. Savanta ComRes is a member of the British Polling Council and abides by its rules.
