ESOMAR’s 37 Questions to Help Buyers of Online Samples is a newly published guide designed to aid buyers throughout the sometimes-daunting process of sample provider selection.
At Savanta, we believe clarity is key, and highly value our clients’ understanding of our processes.
In a crowded market where online sample providers vary in experience and credentials, picking the right panel can be a bit of a puzzle: it takes time and effort to sort through it all.
To simplify this process further, we have diligently answered the 37 questions posited by ESOMAR.
Our response to these questions is a testament to our commitment to delivering the highest quality sample solutions, all while upholding transparency.
1. What experience does your company have in providing online samples for market research? How long have you been providing this service? Do you also provide similar services for other uses, such as direct marketing? If so, what proportion of your work is for market research?
Savanta has extensive experience in providing samples for market research through our proprietary panels and our extensive supplier network. Savanta now owns three proprietary panels – Crowdology, The OpinionPanel Community, and the app based YourVue panel. The OpinionPanel Community was established in 2004 and, since its inception, has been available as a leading resource for accessing youth samples online. Savanta does not provide services other than those associated with market research, and as a matter of principle, we do not market or sell to our panelists.
2. Do you have staff with responsibility for developing and monitoring the performance of the sampling algorithms and related automated functions who also have knowledge and experience in this area? What sort of training in sampling techniques do you provide to your frontline staff?
Sampling is managed by the dedicated Operations team, and panel management is led by our Audience team. Staff are trained on the implementation of internal panel assets and external sampling tools to ensure consistency of sampling. The Audience team periodically monitors panel health to ensure responsiveness, quality, and feasibility. For the external tools, sampling process and associated algorithms are managed by the supplier DSPs.
